二、语法：一般过去时
含义：表示过去发生的事，常跟表示过去的时间状语连用， yesterday, last…，…ago then等。
构成： 主语 动词过去式 过去时间
肯：My mother bought me a birthday cake yesterday.
否：（1）如果有be动词或情态动词，直接在其后加not。
It was not his birthday yesterday.
I could not get there on time.
（2）如果(没有be动词或情态动词),谓语动词是实意动词，要借助于助动词didn’t变否定，过去式变成原形。
My mother didn’t buy me a birthday cake yesterday.
问：（1）如果有be动词或情态动词，直接将其提到句首。
Was it his birthday yesterday? Yes，it was./No, it wasn’t.
Could you get there on time? Yes, I could./ No,I couldn’t.
（2）如果(没有be动词或情态动词),谓语动词是实意动词，要借助于助动词Did变疑问，过去式变成原形。
Did your mother buy you a birthday cake yesterday?
