Cinderella was a sweet and kindhearted girl, but she was badly treated by her selfish and mean stepmother and stepsisters. One day, the king and queen invited all young ladies to a ball where the prince would choose a bride. Cinderella’s stepsisters went to the ball with their splendid costumes while she was not allowed to attend the ball by her stepmother because she was only a servant girl in rags. Cinderella cried and was helped by her fairy godmother who used magic to give her shimmering gowns, glass slippers and a carriage to attend the ball. The prince fell love with Cinderrella and only danced with her, but Cinderella had to leave before midnight with one slipper missing in a rush. At last, the prince found Cinderella through the lost slipper and they get married.
This picture book is different from the similar ones sold in the market in that the story and sentences are simple with only 865 English words and 1414 Chinese words but illustrated by as many as 98 splended pictures. It can be used as an intereting and effective textbook to learn English or Chinese.
