伦敦是世界第一大金融中心，控制着全世界45%的外汇交易和黄金、白银、原油等大宗商品定价权，也是全球最大的银行、保险、期货和航运中心。伦敦平均每日的外汇交易额高达2.7万亿美元，为世界第一，居民财富总额位居世界第二。
