还是好喜欢“马尔科姆的一家”(3)

And that"ll make your heart bigger and open your eyes and finally you will realize that there"s more to life than proving you"re the smartest person in the world. I"m sorry, Malcolm, but you don"t get the easy path. You won"t get to just have fun and be rich and live the life of luxury.Lois: 抱歉，还不够。
你知道贫穷是怎样的，你知道辛苦工作是怎样的。现在你要学着感受擦地、辛苦工作、取得你身边孩子两倍的成就，即便如此，他们还是会看不起你，这种心情。你会很希望他们喜欢你，可是他们就是不。这会让你伤心，同时也让你胸怀更广阔，眼界更开阔，最后你会了解到，比证明自己最聪明，人生中还有更重要的事。抱歉，Malcolm，你没法走那种轻松的道路，你不能直接去过那种享乐、富有、奢华的生活。
这个场景让我想到Priest的《大哥》里讲过的一个“过河”的故事，《大哥》里的主角小时候被妈妈告诫，无论在河这边是多么的不堪和贫瘠，河那边看起来是多么的美好，都一定不能过河。这个故事我记了很久很久，一直都不明白，为什么不可以过河。随着自己成长的经历吧，似乎有一点点懂了，但还是难以确认什么算做故事里的“过河”。如果Malcolm直接进入了企业，算“过河”了吗？
