通过有关民调可以看到，中国民众充分肯定东盟对亚太地区的和平与发展作出的积极贡献，对某些域外势力蓄意干扰中国东盟关系也了然于心。东盟国家不是地缘争夺的“棋子”，而是促进地区发展繁荣的重要“棋手”。任何在本地区制造集团对立和分裂对抗的行为，都是不得人心的。
The polls indicate that the Chinese public fully recognizes ASEAN’s positive contributions to peace and stability in Asia-Pacific and is fully aware of certain non-regional forces’ deliberate attempts to disrupt China-ASEAN relations. ASEAN countries are not chess pieces in a geopolitical contest, but important chess players who will promote regional development and prosperity. Any move to revive opposing blocs or stoke division and confrontation in the region will find no support.
习近平主席去年在中国—东盟建立对话关系30周年纪念峰会上指出，“30年来中国东盟合作的成就，得益于双方地缘相近、人文相通得天独厚的条件，更离不开我们积极顺应时代发展潮流，作出正确历史选择”。中方过去是、现在是、将来也永远是东盟的好邻居、好朋友、好伙伴。中方愿同东盟一道，以30周年纪念峰会重要共识为指引，建设好中国东盟全面战略伙伴关系，深化各领域务实合作，珍惜和维护友好民意基础，携手迈向更为紧密的命运共同体，为促进地区和平稳定与繁荣作出新的贡献。
President Xi Jinping pointed out in his speech at the Special Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of China-ASEAN Dialogue Relations that, “The gains in China-ASEAN cooperation over the past 30 years are attributable to our unique geographical proximity and cultural affinity and, more importantly, to the fact that we have actively embraced the development trend of our times and made the right historic choice.” China was, is, and will always be ASEAN’s good neighbor, good friend and good partner. China stands ready to work with ASEAN to take the important consensus of the Special Summit as a guidance, flesh out our comprehensive strategic partnership, deepen practical cooperation across the board, cherish and cement public support for bilateral friendship, build a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future and make new contributions to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
