……如果科学读者认为，这一结果完全是可预见的，做实验是浪费时间。我只能回答说，在我看来，打破某种大众里广泛存在的迷信，这样的实验是有意义的。有科学心智的心理学家，没有一个会相信心灵感应。同时，去证伪心灵感应，可能会驱使一个学生开始走上正确的科学道路，因此而花费的时间，可能会在未来的科学里得到百倍的回报。”
