双城之辩——《上帝之城》读后感
It was the best of times,
it was the worst of times,
it was the age of wisdom,
it was the age of foolishness,
it was the epoch of belief,
it was the epoch of incredulity,
it was the season of Light,
it was the season of Darkness,
it was the spring of hope,
it was the winter of despair,
we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way--in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
《双城记》的这段话之中，蕴含着在一体一际背景下同时存在的“两个城市”（伦敦和巴黎），它们明明身居同一时代，但这个时代却兼有最好和最坏的两种性质。在同一个城市的内部也有善恶之分，就像《龙与魔女》里面的伦敦和里伦敦那样。
