第二天，Effie Trinket 把Katniss叫醒，告知准备好她的重要的日子。今天就是她和其他贡品者将会出席国会，呈现给公众的大日子。
During breakfast Peeta and Katniss ask Haymitch for advice on how to survive the Games. He tells them to not die and Peeta, upset with this counsel, knocks over Haymitch"s glass of spiked juice, which earns him a punch in the jaw. Katniss reacts by stabbing her knife between Haymitch"s fingers, as he reaches for more alcohol. It is then Haymitch decides the two might make decent fighters.
在早餐的时候，Peeta 和Katniss 询问Haymitch 建议关于如何在狩猎中存活。他告诉两个人最好别死，Peeta对于询问的结果很失望，同时打翻了Haymitch的酒精果汁，结果给了Peeta一拳。Katniss 立刻反应把小刀插在Haymitch 的手指之间，在他正在拿酒的时候。然后Haymitch认为两个人在狩猎中会是不错的战士。

Peeta waves to the crowds awaiting them at the train station in the Capitol. He tells Katniss one of the onlookers might be rich. It is in this moment she realizes Peeta is not as nice as she thought and he will kill her if possible, because he is going to try to survive the Games.
