在这次通话中，中方向美方强调，中国对南沙群岛及其附近海域拥有无可争辩的主权，这一主权涵盖群岛内的岛、礁、滩、沙，包括仁爱礁。仁爱礁问题的根源是菲方多次出尔反尔，企图在中国的无人岛礁上建设永久哨所，以此实现对仁爱礁的永久非法侵占。美国不是南海问题的当事方，不应该介入中菲两国之间的问题。维护本国领土主权和海洋权益，中方有坚强意志和坚定决心。 During the call, the Chinese side stressed that China has indisputable sovereignty over Nansha Qundao and its adjacent waters. The sovereignty covers the islands, reefs, shoals and cays of Nansha Qundao, including Ren’ai Jiao. The root cause for the Ren’ai Jiao issue is that the Philippines has repeatedly gone back on its words and tried to build permanent outposts on the uninhabited reef which belongs to China, in an attempt to permanently occupy Ren’ai Jiao, which is illegal. The US is not a party to the South China Sea issue, and should not intervene in matters between China and the Philippines. China has a strong will and resolve to safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
